We Want Mochi!

I have been craving for Mochi. It has been days. We yearn for mochi, we need mochi.

 MochiCreme, Yummmmmmy.

Our unceasing want for Mochi has led us to make our own (that's how we roll in the family, if we like it that much we learn how to make it). Yesterday Camille attempted to make Mochi ice cream from scratch.

I am very proud to report that this endeavor succeeded.

Mix sugar, water, and glutinous rice flour in a bowl and stir until you have a fine smooth liquid. Make sure there are no lumps!

Chuck the mixture in the microwave for 5 minutes. While waiting, cover a flat surface with cling wrap and sprinkle with corn starch.

The sugar/glutinous rice mixture should look like this after 5 minutes in the microwave. Stir the now sticky mixture until cool.

Pour the mixture onto the cling wrap covered surface. Sprinkle with cornstarch and flatten the mixture. Spread out using a spatula or a baking pin.

We took a bowl to cut out circles from the already flattened sugar/rice flour mixture. Use these to wrap the ice cream.

Voila! Mochi ice cream! Keep refrigerated.
Okay so obviously I just took photos but whatever, mochi is mine.

 Enjoy!

Will post more photos after I get a hold of myself and finally stop eating these amazing little things.
