Shi Lin, Alabang Town Center

Another addition to Alabang Town Center's new wing is the Chinese restaurant Shi Lin.

Shi Lin's Spicy Seaweed
A while back, the family visited Taipei and it was one of those great vacations. We all fell in love with the city, the food, and the shopping. The highlight was our visit to the Shi Lin food and fashion night market.  It was an amazing experience!

It was a pleasant surprise when a restaurant (also) named Shi Lin popped up in ATC's new wing. Camille insisted that we dine there but our love for cake always persisted and we always wound up in Banapple. Last weekend, however, after two straight weekends of Banapple, we finally decided to give Shi Lin a try.

Although this Shi Lin does not offer the exciting and exotic food found in Taiwan's Shi Lin night market, this place also proves to be interesting.

Spicy Jellyfish (PHP 105), a Chinese restaurant staple for us.

Fried Rice with Shrimp, Pork, and Egg (PHP 128)

Braised Beef Soup (PHP 248)

Stirfry Native Spinach (PHP 98)

Salt and Pepper Squid (PHP 289)

Spicy Spare Ribs (PHP 289)

Shrimp and Pork Dumpling (PHP 148)

Xiao Long Bao (PHP 138)

The first time ever I've tried the Xiao Long Bao and I ate it wrong. It was after the whole meal when we realized our mistake and decided to order another set of dumplings to experience them the right way. To eat these dumplings, you dip them in soy sauce or vinegar with ginger then bite the wrapper and sip the soup inside. The rest is then eaten with ginger. I'm glad we tried again because that made all the difference.

Camille finally happy.

And the very short wait for our food to arrive.

  1. My tito used to buy these packets of jellyfish in Binondo. You just drain the excess liquid from the jellyfish, mix the special seasonings and you have one tasty appetizer.

Sin Lin's version sort of reminded me of it. I miss my tito. Unfortunately, he passed away a few years ago na. =(

  2. I know it's supposed to be more authentic Chinese here, but this place underwhelmed me terribly.
